COLUMBUS, Ohio – Default Industry Leaders, a national educational and networking nonprofit for professionals in the distressed real estate industry, has tapped Gryphon USA Ltd. Managing Partner Richard F. Kruse to join its board of directors.
Default Industry Leaders www.defaultindustryleaders.com is made up of real estate brokers, auctioneers, lenders, loan servicers, attorneys, and hedge fund professionals.
Kruse’s role on the board will include assisting in the growth of the organization, streamlining operations, and developing additional skills training, mentoring and networking opportunities for members.
“The big attraction for me is that it is a nonprofit,” Kruse said. “Dues and other income get utilized for member education and scholarships and our foundation donates to organizations focused on housing creation and improvements.”
Kruse said the board has charged him with improving the business operations while keeping annual membership dues more affordable than other for-profit groups representing many of the default industry groups and goals.
“My job is to develop systems and procedures as well as build new programming,” he said. “Our first task is redesigning the organization’s website.”
“Rich is always looking for ways to improve things,” said Kristen Conti, a long standing board member, in a recent DIL statement where Kruse’s appointment was announced. “He knows how to stretch a dollar and create more with less in his current practice. He will lean into those resources to help keep our finances in check. We are truly blessed to have him on the team!”
Kruse has acted as receiver, Interim manager, asset purchaser, liquidating agent, equipment appraiser, broker, property manager or auctioneer for combined property values in excess of $2 billion throughout North America.
Kruse also makes time to teach seminars on distressed asset management and corporate wind down assignments to the real estate and auction community.
Gryphon USA, the business Kruse manages full time, provides receivership, brokerage, and auction services related to lenders, law firms and the Courts with a focus on complex state and federal court legal matters.
